The Ultra Glide has long been a staple in Salomon's trail-running lineup. Now, the design has graduated to become the S/Lab Ultra Glide, which takes a place in front and center of Salomon's distance shoes. A newly engineered outsole with features akin to "divots" diffuses pressure and is paired with a dual-density midsole, providing greater stability and comfort. The stack height is a generous 41mm but feels remarkably stable due to the redesign and additional side protection. Of course, the Quicklace system remains efficient and has a nicely padded heel collar, which increases heel hold, and the 6mm drop with 3mm lugs is ideal for all-day (and night) turnover. The S/Lab Ultra Glide may have a familiar name, but that's all you'll recognize as its DNA comes from much heartier stock.
